Specialist Engineering, and Technical Advisory
Our areas of technical engineering service are reported below, and what Aidaptive does best is the assembly of these different technical disciplines and skills, to deliver a greater end result.
The breadth of our engineering skills in house and with our collaborators, enables us to unite the skills and direct them to deliver the necessary degree of work, and the required result. Aidaptive provides effective outcomes to difficult problems and opens untapped opportunities.

Acceleration Verification
Design Commissioning and Performance Verification
Annual measurement and deviation tracking
Device alteration – motion assessment
Acceleration and speed assessment of an amusement device is a critical contributor to patron wellbeing, safety and device integrity. Using high performance equipment from the motorsport industry and laboratory test equipment, we assess in detail the forces applied to devices and people, allowing detection of changes and potential exceeding of thresholds.
Design Review
Verification of Amusement Devices to Australian (AS) or European (EN) standards as required for Design Registration in all states of Australia.
Aidaptive’s team can address all aspects of Mechanical, Structural, Civil, Electrical & Control design evaluation, bringing the Design Review process under one service leader.
Our services can extend to leading the review process with the nominated State Regulator, preparing the Application paperwork and documentation, and working through any areas of difference or further verification/testing validation, to reach agreed satisfaction with the design integrity.

Functional Testing
Through Design of Experiments, Aidaptive is able to conduct likely and unlikely fault scenarios that the amusement device or attraction must be capable of resisting, defeating or report accordingly and action correctly.
This testing is used to further validate the design, the installation and support Plant Registration and Annual Inspection requirements.
Failure Mode Testing
Similar to Functional Testing, Failure Mode Testing (Fault Injection) is the intentional creation of faults within the control system (electronic, hydraulic or pneumatic). Its purpose is to validate the safety systems (typically safety PLC’s, hydraulic and pneumatic PRV), report accordingly and action correctly.
This testing is used to further validate the design, the installation and support Plant Registration and typically Major Inspection requirements.

NDT Interpretation
Assessment to OEM requirements
Mapping
Establishment in the absence of OEM documentation
Photo to CAD
The process of converting photographs to digital drawings (Photogrammetry) and the process of laser point scanning to create 3D models can provide accurate drawings and reference models of as built structures.
The speed and accuracy of these techniques enables them to be economically used on a periodical basis to monitor for progressive movement and alteration within amusement device structures.
Giant observation wheels, water parks, wooden coasters, drop towers – anything that would otherwise be too hard to measure.
Aidaptive’s technical partners can provide this service as part of an annual monitoring plan, in response to an extreme weather event or where device dimensions or positions have become unknown and require rapid determination.
Once the devices structures are modelled, localized FEA analysis can be undertaken.

FEA Modelling
Finite Element Analysis modelling is a common technique used to estimate the stress and strain that a mechanical component or structure may be expose too, and its behavior under a given load. FEA modelling provides guidance on the service life, probable failure location and necessity for NDT verification/frequency to remain confident in the service life of that component. Its use is common as a verification tool as part of a Design Review, or to determine the life of a component that may not have previously been modelled, but who’s service life can be estimated.
FEA is a numerical method used for the prediction of how a part or assembly behaves under given conditions.
Commissioning & Commercialisation
Commissioning of amusement devices is frequently undertaken by the OEM (if new) and by the owner / install team if 2nd hand. In either situation, confirmation of correct installation and performance validation are critical before device handover or acceptance.
For clients that require additional technical support and want the reassurance that the device is what they purchased and performs safely and reliably, Aidaptive Commissioning and Commercialisation services address this. Once a device is commissioned, the Operations and Maintenance teams need to understand how to run and care for the device in an efficient, safe, and reliable manner.
Leveraging years of experience in commissioning industrial equipment and amusement devices, Aidaptive’s engineers provide ideal Owners Engineers and technical project representatives for new builds, major refurbishments and alterations.

Project Management
Extending the Commissioning to Commercialisation services, Aidaptive’s engineers are experienced project managers, be it with technical works or larger coordination activities.
They are a very useful part of larger teams or leader of smaller projects.
